- The Projects Controller is required to actively work with the bank’s project management community to monitor, control and govern the project portfolio and ensure that deliverables, costs, quality standards, schedules, risks, issues and dependencies are managed effectively. The Project Controller performs activities of analyzing, tracking, and monitoring projects and systems in order to meet internal customer requirements and quality standards to help the bank to maintain projects standards in a competitive and effective manner
Job Description
1. Develop, manage and monitor project metrics and other performance indicators at project and portfolio level. Escalate deviances in performance against metrics as required to the Head of EPO.
2. Engage closely with Project Managers and stakeholders in developing Business Cases and feasibility studies for proposed projects. Channel business cases to appropriate authorities for validation and approvals.
3. Monitor and manage the bank’s Project Management Information System.
4. Prepare and follow up on items that initiate from the Project Governance Committee meetings, GCOO meetings and meetings with the different project governance representatives and Executives
5. Collaborate with the bank’s project management community to ensure smooth conduct and implementation of EPO initiatives.
6. Oversee project budget plans and actual expenses, and assist Project Managers with budget management. Liaise with Finance for continuous improvement in project cost tracking.
7. Prepares training material, examples, and visual aids, and conducts training to enhance awareness of project management throughout the Bank.
8. Supports the implementation of project management models and best practices, and monitors project management processes for potential areas of improvement
9. Develop and maintain procurement templates; Liaise with and support procurement functions, Finance and Project Managers to monitor, support and ensure good governance of project procurement processes
10. Provide support during Project Management-related system roll-outs, compile and assist with existing/future pilot roll-out, lead change documentation and testing activities
11. Monitors project dependencies, issues and risks and escalate and expedite resolution / mitigation in a timely manner.
12. Promote communications and stakeholder engagement in all projects to ensure frequent and comprehensive planning and monitoring of projects
13. Manage projects and initiatives as assigned by Direct Manager.
14. Support reporting requirements related to the Group Operating Office and Projects Office
15. Monitor performance against key indicators for Group Operating functions. Monitor delivery of action items assigned by the GCOO to various Groups for execution. Escalate deviances.
16. Performs other duties in line with scope of work and as instructed by the direct manager
