System Architect - iHorizons

Job Summary

A software architect is an information technology professional. He is responsible for dictating design choices to software developers, including but not limited to: platforms, coding and technical levels. His goal is to gain a complete understanding of his clients’ needs and effectively communicate them to the software design team.

Functions and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the conceptual and logical designs for the platform and/or products being developed, making sure it meets the client requirements and designed based on best practices in design patterns.

• Work with project managers from all involved parties (local team, client and 3rd parties) to ensure that all project deliverable are on time and of high quality

• Assist in deploying applications to Dev, QA and Production environments

• Creating prototypes and authoring detailed interaction specifications and usage scenarios
• Working with user experience researchers to design and observe usability studies

• Successfully communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale to clients and colleagues including those who are not information technology professionals

• Participate in the development life cycle from inception to deployment and supervising testing activities before go live
• Participate in training throughout various phases of the development cycle

• Report projects progress to project owners.

• Ensures that all development practices are in compliance with client and industry best practices policies and procedures
• Analyzing and solving problems

• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all technological advances related to platform/product being developed.

• Responsible of segmenting huge/large projects into small sprints/iterations as per agreement of PM

• Responsible for risk identifications and associate them with relative mitigation approaches.
