BASIC FUNCTION:
Direct the overall operations of the Sales Department; responsible for achieving sales and collections goals; responsible for sales team hiring, retention, and development. The goal is to maximize sales in the government and corporate vertical market. A demonstrated ability in building business and sales volume is crucial. The ability to step into the sales process at any point and positively influence the outcome of the sales effort is key. Must be able to lead by example. Must think both strategically and tactically about the government and corporate business.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Recruit, hire and develop Account Manager staff.
• Effectively recruit, screen candidates, and approve employee hires.
• Coordinate an intensive, high quality training program for newly hired Account Manager.
2. Direct, supervise, and develop the Sales Department personnel to ensure a highly motivated and efficient staff.
• Daily management of a team of Account Managers to meet sales and revenue goals through by applying an efficient sales and opportunity management process. Coach and direct and provide corrective action as necessary to improve performance.
• Design, implement, and supervise special sales contests to motivate Account Managers and to increase revenue.
3. Oversee center Accounts management.
• Effectively distribute and manage individual territories by Account Manager
• Set Accounts sales and revenue expectations with Account Managers
• Monitor performance against exceptions
• Manage Accounts conflict and transfer accounts as necessary
4. Meet or exceed sales and revenue goals
• Compare the monthly net income results with training center objectives. Formulate plans to meet and exceed objectives.
• Monitor cash collection results by Account Managers and initiate corrective actions to meet cash flow objectives.
5. Develop and administer the department’s operating budget. Assume responsibility for the department equipment and supplies. Establish procedures and controls to protect assets from damage and theft.
6. Monitor sales trends; recommend new products and marketing strategies as appropriate.
7. Perform other duties and tasks as designated by the General Manager.
