Manager Operations - S.O.S. HR Solutions

Purpose of Job (Objectives)
• The responsibilities of the Manager Operations is to support the Senior Operations Manager and Freight Management in ensuring that the financial investment and returns from the freight business units are managed according to all relevant corporate policies and shareholder expectations.

Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Provide help in developing the overall local operational strategy and direction for the local
freight forwarding teams in accordance and alignment with the country strategy.
2. Advise on key decisions pertaining to the day-to-day activities for the freight department,
consulting with senior management when necessary.
3. Oversee locally the development of new freight business, including the commercial policy
and future strategic business direction.
4. Ensure that financial management, billing and invoicing is carried out in accordance with
the General Manager Freight Management requirements.
5. Recommendations staffing to ensure sufficient and adequately experienced human
resources are in place locally to carry out the agreed business objectives in all areas.
6. Ensure that all freight staff is trained on the information systems and that they are using
them correctly to support the needs of the business.
7. Coordinate with senior members of governmental & other official bodies to ensure that
our operation complies as per the regulations & rules of Kuwait.
8. Maintain and develop relationships with new and existing clients in the local market in order to improve profitability, and increase client tie-in.
9. Ensure the staff are complying with all target strategies and standing instructions for new and existing clients.
10. Continue to initiate and build upon external relationships through industry affiliate associations and events to generate business leads through prospecting and networking.
11. Negotiate the buying and selling rates for freight import/export.
12. Stay current with the day-to-day correspondence of the freight department and intervene when necessary.
13. Responsible to comply with the applicable laws, regulations and procedures.
14. Responsible for exercising due diligence towards health & safety of others in the organization as well as environmental protection issues.
15. Responsible for reporting to his supervisors' occurrences, events, violations and act that may affect safety, security and company reputation.
