Project Director - Burhan International Construction Company W.L.L.

The Project Director will be responsible for all hospital master planning and strategic facilities development and, ultimately be part of the management team of facility operations. The Jahra Hospital will deliver to patients a first-class level of clinical care, personal service, and amenities in a state of the art medical center with a facility environment unrivaled within Kuwait and the Middle East. Responsibilities include managing the overall facility development plan; identification of decision groups to guide and respond to questions of program and facility design. The Project Director will report to the Burhan Operations Manager.

The Project Director will be also responsible for making this project a success through effective project management skills, sound finance abilities and practices, outstanding team building abilities, meeting tight deadlines and strict KPIS besides following the best international standards in the hospital building industry including green buildings standards and procedures.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Review designs submitted by architects to ensure value engineering and most economical solutions have been adopted.
• Monitor progress of work (design / construction) and resolve obstacles to ensure completion on time.
• Assist and advice in selection of materials.
• Establish effective communication with all the project stakeholders.
• Review with project consultants all architectural, structural, Mechanical and Electrical submittals.
• Carryout random checks on site to ensure adequate quality control are maintained.
• Review the various designs related to external works, roads and infrastructure services.
• Coordinate with the government authority to ensure timely completion of Al-Jahra Hospital project.
• Submit to Burhan International management regular progress reports on the project and monitor contracts performance (frequency to be discussed and approved by the Project Director and the Burhan International Higher management).
• Represent Burhan International with appointed consultants and contractors and assist in making appropriate decisions related to the project.
• Work closely with other project management team members to ensure achievements of excellence in all aspects of the project.
• Review of contractors’ valuations and claims.
• Ensure effective contract management.
• Participate in the evaluation of tenders for projects
• Maintain appropriate project records and statistics for administration and regulatory purposes.
• Support all safety programs. Responsible for safety of Burhan staff and its contractors/sub contractors involved in project works.
• Handle other essential tasks as assigned.

Problem Solving/Complexity:
• Position requires strong analytical, planning, coordination and target delivery skills.
• Needs to be able to prepare and review design work connected with projects, modifications and alterations to existing systems; to install of new equipment and systems; coordinate and direct the study and analysis of complex or recurring problems related to support systems.
Decision Making Authority and Responsibility:
• Develops or directs the development or methods and procedures to ensure projects are executed in accordance with the overall project design strategy and with the approved policies and procedures, engineering and legal standards.
