The Technical Services Manager’s primary responsibility is to oversee the streamlined operation of the IT department and to ensure it aligns with the business objectives of the company. This individual’s principal goals are to develop and manage application portfolios for each department and to attain all IT service level agreements for the user community within the company. The Technical Services Manager will plan, coordinate, direct, and design all operational activities of the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. The Technical Services Manager will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
· Establishes current and long range objectives, plans, and policies, subject to approval by upper management.
· Creates a technical vision for the company and plans for implementation of new technical projects or product lines.
· Dispenses advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures, consistent with established policies and Board approval.
· Works with Internal IT Support Unit to introduce new technologies.
· Reviews operating results of the organization, compares them to established objectives, and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
· Creates technical budgets, allocates resources, and determines schedule of product releases or project deadlines.
· Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the organization.
· Analyzes new technologies and runs competitive analyses.
· Represents organization with major customers, shareholders, and the public.
