POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Product cum Service Manager, the Service Centre Technician / Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the seamless processing of all warranty and store inventory returns. The Service Centre Technician / Coordinator understands the impact of this position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of the inventory management processes. This position requires strict adherence to vendor return guidelines and timelines.
The Service Centre Technician / Coordinator is responsible for providing service to customers by installing, upgrading and servicing majorly electronic systems and products either sold by the company or external products carried in by the customers. The Service Centre Technician understands the impact of this position towards customer satisfaction. This position requires strict prioritization of tasks and time management. Conversing with customers may be required on a regular basis
Additionally, this position would be responsible for receiving external ad-hoc service jobs from walk-in customers and allocating the job work to existing service agents in the service centre.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Identifies and organizes incoming accessories and serial stock by date warranty expires for Return Merchandise submission. Submits Return Merchandise under the vendor guidelines, packages and ships Return Merchandise items. Verifies receipt of credit or replacement of Return Merchandise items and entry back into system.
• Processes identified out-of-box items and no fault found items, prepares, labels and organizes transfer to stores.
• Establish and verify suppliers and repair centres are processing Return Merchandise by deadlines or within a timely manner.
• Maintain records of all outgoing and incoming shipments regarding Return Merchandise movement. Ensure transfers to the service department are completed on time, every time.
• Serves existing customers or new walk-in customers for warranty service requests or ad-hoc job requests.
• Establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests.
• Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.
• Keeps personal equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
• Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma is preferred
• Advanced computer and MS Office skills
• Familiarity with both PC and Macintosh architecture.
• Should be familiar with installing and troubleshooting various operating systems, office software, hardware drivers, antivirus, etc.
• Excellent operating knowledge of peripherals like scanners, cameras, printers, etc., is essential.
• Knowledge of different versions of Microsoft Operating systems and Mac OS is essential.
• Prior experience working in a similar role is preferred
