Technical Support Engineer - M.H. Alshaya Co.

The Role:

Reporting to the Technical Support Supervisor, the Technical Support Engineer is responsible for providing first line support to retail stores by troubleshooting any IT related issues such as POS software and hardware problems (desktops, printers, handhelds etc.) and providing solutions accordingly. This role also involves regular store visits for general preventive maintenance, store refurbishments and new store openings and as such requires Engineers to be on call 24/7.

Responsibilities:
- Provide first line of support to the retail stores for all IT related issues.- Installation / maintenance / trouble shooting for the Linux Servers, Linux POS, desktops and printers in the stores.- Routine monitoring maintenance and backups for the store server databases.- Will require successful candidates to work in shifts.


Skills & Experience:
- Relevant Bachelor's Degree- At least 2 years' experience in IT support field- Experience on Linux and Windows OS (installation & troubleshooting)- RHCE certification will be an added advantage- Basic knowledge of MySql and scripting- Good knowledge of computer hardware / printers.
