Role Objective:
To achieve profitable sales results by effectively managing the area and its stores, garnering market intelligence and tracking competition, creating an effective team of staff, and ensuring a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Strategic
1.Assist in defining short-term and long-terms retail strategies for NSC in line with the corporate strategy
2.Contribute to the development of the annual business plan for NSC from a sales perspective including sales goals and objectives
3.Contribute to developing relevant policies and procedures pertaining to the Store Operations in conjunction with Head Store Operations
Operational
1.Drive area sales and profit plans to budget through successful leadership, organizational plans, customer service, and outstanding execution of all field operations strategies, consistently across all stores
2.Manage the business by effectively using sales reports, assessing departmental results, and developing specific actions directly related to business development and growth, consistently across all stores
3.Lead and direct development of department level sales goals and action plans for store teams in ones area
4.Enhance sales through Identification and analysis of practices and initiatives being implemented by competition in the area
5.Enhance sales through Identification and analysis of trends as per footfall, conversion rates, bill value, individual SKU sales, etc. for the area
6. Ensure achievement of sales targets which have been set for the area; Cascade area targets to the stores and drive team to meet these targets
7. Continually monitor achievement of sales targets and take corrective measures where required
8. Ensure optimal inventory management in the area by conducting periodic merchandise availability audits and giving feedback to merchandising department in this regard
9. Assist in the development of marketing material by providing relevant inputs
10. Ensure minimization of shrinkage levels across stores in the area
11. Ensure minimization of costs by effective allocation and monitoring of operational expenses like stationery, conveyance, phone, staff welfare, etc. for the stores
12. Authorize all capital expenditure, apart from expansion costs, for existing stores
13. Foster the highest standards of customer service excellence within the area
14. Ensure that mystery shopping standards are met at the stores in the area and constantly endeavor to improve the mystery shopping scores
15. Conduct “floor walks” to assess customer service quality; Instill highest standards of customer service standards by coaching store managers and associates
16. Implement process improvements in the area as per feedback solicited from customers
17. Ensure process compliance at all stores in the area as per the corporate guidelines laid down in terms of Visual Merchandising, mystery shopping, etc.
18. Ensure consistency in implementing the company’s visual presentation and merchandising standards, inclusive of product presentation, sampling, signing, and lighting
19. Ensure that each store in the area is compliant with all basic inventory management/movement/receiving processes
20.Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
People
1.Monitor performance of direct reportees and guide them in managing their performance by providing appropriate feedback
2.Allocate work to subordinates, nominate for training as per the organization’s guidelines and manage leave and overtime to ensure the efficiency of the group
3.Ensure that subordinates are aware and familiar with assigned tasks and responsibilities
4.Assist subordinates in resolution of any problems, discrepancies, and inquiries.
